Overview
Aleida maintains a broad practice in estate and trust law, including estate planning, estate administration, and dispute resolution, and regularly advises executors, trustees, attorneys, and guardians on their duties and obligations.
Prior to joining O’Sullivan Estate Lawyers, Aleida practiced at a leading estate litigation boutique firm in Toronto, where she provided guidance and expertise to executors and trustees throughout the estate administration process and worked on complex litigation matters including will challenges, guardianship applications, passings of accounts, and dependants’ relief claims. This experience strongly informs Aleida’s planning practice, as it enables her to thoughtfully consider the consequences of estate plans for clients and identify and minimize litigation risk.
Aleida completed her articles as a Judicial Law Clerk at the Superior Court of Justice in Toronto, where she assisted trial judges in a wide variety of family, civil and estates law matters. Working directly within the judicial decision-making process has provided Aleida with a unique perspective on legal writing and reasoning that she brings to each aspect of her practice.
Aleida is an avid traveler, having previously studied internationally in both Lyon, France, and Stockholm, Sweden.
